What role does AI play in the successful transition of industry?

This was discussed during the Handelsblatt AI Summit at the Greentech Festival by Elias Küpper (CEO @RIZM), Andreas Schick (COO @Schaeffler) and Markus Achtert (Managing Director @Volkswagen ETS).

Moderated by Kevin Knitterscheidt (Head of News @Handelsblatt), the panel participants discussed the challenges of the transition and presented joint successes.

"As a leading motion-technology company and soon one of the ten largest suppliers worldwide, we need almost 3 terawatt-hours of energy to cover our demand. One thing is certain: without digital tools and AI, the efficient use of renewable energy will not be possible in the future."

Schaeffler and Volkswagen both rely on RIZM and underline the role of software for the competitive decarbonization of their sites.

"We have everything in place to significantly reduce the energy costs of the Volkswagen plants. The technologies are there – RIZM has proven this to us several times. Now we just have to boldly apply what we have learned."
